How does SaleMove integrate with Google Analytics?

Events are triggered by SaleMove’s application, itself, and do not require any deep integration into the client’s application internals.  SaleMove supports both GA’s Universal and it’s Classic Analytics codes.

Each event triggers the delivery of a category, an action, and descriptive labels (e.g. visitor id, operator id, engagement media selected) to the GA property affiliated with the Tracking ID referenced in your code.

SaleMove will help you configure each trigger event, and send values for each of these parameters, where

  • category is the classification of events sent to your system from SaleMove
  • action is the GA title of the event triggering the delivery of this data, and
  • label is a stringified JSON payload of data relevant to the event.

The label payload may include two kinds of data.

SaleMove fields are dynamically delivered from SaleMove’s system along with your event, and

Custom fields are statically defined with your preferred values to be delivered with your event.
